Lyra comes from a nomadic people, mostly consisting of hunters and traders. They are disliked and distrusted by most other species, but are tolerated as traders. The Nekomimi's traveling lifestyle means they often have items for sale that would otherwise take weeks of travel to obtain. Despite this, no member of the species is allowed within city walls after nightfall.

Lyra personally considers herself to be a nice girl - a sweet girl. She cares about her family, and she does her best not to cause suffering to any living creature. She plays with her food a little, but she always kills it before it suffers too much pain. It's only that she was raised to view other sentient species as equivalent to a pet dog. They're often cute, they're certainly useful, and one should never abuse them... but it's perfectly okay to impose your will upon them.

She sees no issue at all with claiming others as slaves, pets or part of her harem, so long as she isn't needlessly cruel to the poor thing. The same applies to members of her own race, outside of the immediate family. If you don't have the power to escape, than you're better off in her care.

Despite that, Lyra is perfectly willing to befriend any member of any species. She enjoys playing games, teasing her friends, and sharing meals with those she cares about. Mind you, if they ever left the safety of their own homes, she'd have to claim them. It's better that it's done by someone who loves them than a stranger, since most species really can't care for themselves.
